Location: Cool, rich locations in the eastern half of Minnesota. (Also found in the Lake and New England States.)

Fun Facts: Fine uniform texture; straight, wavy or curly grain; heavy; strong; stiff; hard; shock resistant; deep notches in leaves, "helicopter propellors" fall from trees

Uses: Lumberveneercross tiesflooring; furniture; wooden ware; novelties; syrup and sugar

Full Size: 60-80 feet in height, 2 feet in diameter; maximum 135 feet in height and 7 feet in diameter

Age at Maturity: 80 years
